questions frequently asked

Q: We went travelling in Peru and love the food. Is there any way we can include this in our wedding menu?

A: 100% yes! Customising menus is what we’re about. Give us some thoughts and we can plan/ test and create a menu which is true to you.

Q: We’re really into the food but are in need of some inspiration with menus, do you have any tried and tested examples we could pick from?

A: Of course. We have several lists of dishes in several different styles. You may find that you pick things off these existing lists, and there is always scope to tweak and switch things around to suit you, whilst ensuring a really lovely cohesive and seasonal menu.

Q: Sounds good, we’d love to taste the menu- is this possible?

A: Absolutely. After planning calls and menu drafting we welcome couples and family / friends to come and try. Because none of our menus or dishes are off the shelf, we do charge for tastings. There’s an awful lot of prep work involved. We have a tasting policy we can send on which outlines it in greater detail, so please ask and we can send it over.

Q: I’m unsure about how many courses to serve, what style to go for and how to fit the eating part into the day. Can you advise?

A: Definitely. We will look carefully at what time your reception will begin, whether people will likely have had lunch, how long into the evening you will be needing to keep people fed, that sort of thing. And we can have a chat to gain insight into your priorities and the vibe of the day- and help decide whether you think a sharing feast would be more appropriate than fine dining; whether you want to think about a grazing table in place of starters or canapes; if you wanted to serve your wedding cake as dessert. There is no one size fits all and options are endless- so talk to us and we can most certainly offer some experienced guidance.

Q: We have quite a few dietary requirements amongst our guests. Can you cater for them?

A: Of course. What we tend to do is work out the main menu- what the majority will be having. Then we look at all of the different requirements listed. We then work out a streamlined alternative which is also in keeping with the main menu. It’s not as hard as it may seem- and the alternative menu will be creative and inspiring- and certainly not a second rate stuffed pepper.

Q: We’re having a marquee wedding and will need to hire in all of the equipment. I have no idea where to begin and am worried that things may slip through the net. Can you help?

A: A solid yes. We can arrange hire and delivery of all catering equipment, taking into account power and space specifications. We can also hire correct crockery/linen/glassware etc. We have loads of experience in quantities needed- making sure there are a few spares, that you have the correct ratio of glasses : drink : guest etc. We share a planning sheet with you which details all of the actuals and the exacts.

Q: We are providing all of our own drinks, are your team able to serve this for us?

A: Another yes. We will need to know in advance what drinks you have allocated for which part of the day- but again our shared planning sheet helps with this. Our gorgeous waiting team will pour fizz, carry wine bottles, mix pimms jugs and pour pints. We don’t like to guarantee we can mix cocktails, so if you’re after something a little more exotic then it may be worth looking at some of the amazing cocktail bar companies around. What we do guarantee however is that fizz will be served fresh, chilled and still fizzy. We can plan all the timings to the minute; but if the bride arrives fashionably late and the reception begins 15 minutes later than planned- you will not be greeted with tray of champagne which has been poured 20 minutes ago..
